Does this clinic have any special areas of focus?
Samantha enjoys dance physiotherapy, sports conditioning and paediatrics. Andrew enjoys treating shoulder injuries and post operative rehabilitation.
Do I need a referral to see a physio?
No, physios are first-line practitioners, however if you prefer to see your doctor prior, this is okay too.
Should I bring anything?
Please bring a pair of shorts and singlet. Any scans with reports is useful as well, along with surgical referrals, post-operative information, and any other information relevant to your condition.
What kind of therapy is involved when I see a physio?
Our clinic is focused on personalised therapy, so what may work for one patient may not for another. We use a variety of techniques with assessment and treatment including anything from manual therapy, exercise, taping, dry needling, massage, electrotherapeutic modalities, clinical pilates, joint mobilisations/manipulations and trigger release.
What does a physio do?
The Australian Physiotherapy Association states that, “Physiotherapists help you get the most out of life. They help you recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, increase mobility and prevent further injury. ... “. What this means is that we are skilled at treating a wide variety of conditions using many methods. We are highly skilled healthcare professionals who have spent years at university and years working clinically to be able to handle many things.
What is a Pre-Pointe Assessment?
A pre-pointe assessment is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a qualified dance physiotherapist, of your child’s readiness for pointe work. We look at many aspects of your child’s physicality including, but not limited to, pointe range, foot control, abdominal control and turnout range. Bookings with Samantha can be made by phone, email or via our online booking platform.
Do you bulk bill?
No we are not a bulk billing practice.
Do you sell products?
We have a certain amount of stock in the clinic and upon request we will order products for existing patients as part of their therapy.
Will my physio talk to my doctor for me?
We always make an effort to include your GP in your treatment as requested by you, the patient.
Can I see a physio before and after surgery?
In most cases yes, but it is always advisable to discuss your plans regarding physiotherapy with your treating surgeon and GP as sometimes surgeons have particular protocols relevant to you.
How many sessions will I need?
This greatly depends on the individual condition, which goes hand-in-hand with personalised therapy. It is advisable to book your initial session and first follow-up appointment at the same time.
Is this clinic COVID safe?
Yes, our clinic abides by the highest standards of hygiene. Social distancing is a challenge in the practice of private practice physiotherapy, and as such we have implemented additional measures to minimise this risk. If you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms, are awaiting a COVID test, or have been diagnosed with COVID in the last 10 days please contact our clinic directly as Telehealth is available.
Can I claim through my health-fund or Medicare?
Yes, we provide on-site health-fund rebates and Medicare rebates provided you have the appropriate information including your EPC form provided by your GP with our clinic details (our address and clinic name must be on this form). Please make sure that your private health fund plan covers physiotherapy by contacting them. Be sure to bring a Debit card for us to rebate the amount onto. We do not bulk bill.
Does your clinic take on WorkCover patients?
At this point in time we are at capacity and as such we are not taking on new WorkCover patients
Should I get scans before I see a physio?
More information is not a bad thing, but you can see a physiotherapist before getting scans as well. If conducted locally, we can access your scans on your behalf.
What are your opening hours?
We are open by appointment, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Friday 9am to 6pm. Out of hours availability upon request.
Can I choose which physio I see?
Appointments can be made online, via email or through phone bookings. Samantha is working in the clinic at a specific capacity. Her areas are dance physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and conditioning, and paediatrics. Andrew will be available five days a week covering a variety of conditions, his area of special interest is shoulders.
