“We wanted a clinic that was relaxed, inviting, energetic and that made us happy to be there.” The Edge Physiotherapy is a family run and owned clinic in Bowral. Andrew and Samantha, having both worked primarily in private practice for their careers, decided to come together to create a space that promoted self-care, healthy lives, well-being, and provided personalised physiotherapy services.

Andrew Dalgliesh

Andrew’s interest in physiotherapy started at an early age after receiving treatment for an injured knee whilst playing junior Australian rules football. Foretelling of his future career he elected to complete his high school work experience as a physiotherapist.

On completion of his secondary education Andrew obtained his Bachelors of Medical Science from the University of New South Wales, with a focus on human anatomy and pathophysiology.

His passion for helping people compelled him to complete his postgraduate Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney.

Andrew has been treating patients in private practice living in the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee and has a special interest in the assessment of swimmers and rehabilitation of shoulders and lower limb injuries.

Philosophy.

Andrew’s approach to therapy is tailored specifically for the individual. As a physical therapist his goal is to assist his patients get back to doing what they want. With a focus on strength, flexibility and mobility he believes a physical therapy practice can not only be a place that facilitates healing but can offer key foundations for a happier and stronger future.

Andrew finds a holistic approach to his patients healthcare is imperative to achieve the optimum result and takes a great deal of satisfaction in seeing patients completing the challenges they set for themselves.

Something personal.

Andrew and Samantha have been living in the Southern Highlands for the last seven years. With two little children and two labradors their home is never short of energy and excitement.

Andrew enjoys a quiet coffee (when he can), reading, day trips over to the coast, walking the many bush trails throughout the Highlands and watching his two children grow and play.

Philosophy.

Samantha’s approach to physiotherapy is “the right treatment for the right patient”. She believes that physiotherapy is not a one size fits all paradigm, and it must be personalised to meet each individuals needs. Samantha enjoys building an ongoing relationship with her patients and their peers and will often find herself treating a whole class of dancers or an entire family from mum, kids and dad.

Something personal.

Originally from the Blue Mountains, Samantha moved to the Southern Highlands several years ago with her husband Andrew. Since then, she has given birth to her two children which keeps her on her toes. She enjoys getting into the outdoors whether it be a bit of bushwalking, a visit to the beach, sourcing the best coffee in the Highlands and watching her children grow and change into little people.
